It's been February since I updated this blog. It's already mid-August and I'll be shipped off to college in two weeks! I'll be heading off to School of Visual Arts on the 29th and I'm incredibly excited. I've never lived in a dorm before so this should be fun.
This summer has indeed been interesting. Hung out with friends, went to England (as usual), saw my brother move away to Oregon to live with his boyfriend, I even participated in Otakon with my three best friends. It's one of those summers I'll never forget but I know there's more to come.
Since 2008, I've been participating in an anime convention masquerade once a summer. The first time was a Final Fantasy skit, last year was a Code Geass skit, and this year was a Pokemon skit. I'm pretty sure this was my best cosplay so far. I'm incredibly proud of the wig I styled and overalls I made... And that HAT is insane! I couldn't keep my cool without my friends during the cosplay making process. There's always that time where it's completely frustrating but we always make it through. This year, we even won two awards at Otakon's masquerade! A judged award for Up and Coming Masters and an award for Best Novice Performance. Definitely the best masquerade so far.
After Otakon, we were even able to hang out with Home Made Kazoku's U-ICHI. I found him on Twitter and decided to ask him out to lunch since he was in New York. Luckily I had my friends come with me, especially Yuki since he translated for us. I'm so happy he had fun and he gave us amazing autographs. I have mine in a safe place and I hope to frame it soon.
Now that this Summer is coming to a close, I'm a bit scared. I've never really lived away from home. I'll only be an hour away but it'll be weird. I'll miss my dog and cat but mostly, I'll probably miss my mom. At least she'll be nearby anyways. I'm sure we'll be fine. Sundae might be incredibly sad though. I'll visit her every other weekend. : )
So that's a brief summary of my summer. So much has happened but it feels like it just went by so quickly. It's sad but I can't wait for college. Hooray!

Week Two of School Has Begun!

I'm happy school is back! Now it's week two and I know what to expect in my classes. So far, I see a lot of work.

Painting I - It's not really bad. I wanted to take this class so I can get into painting again. It's been a long time. I had my second day of class and we've already started painting. Of course they are geometric shapes but I'm having fun.
2D Design II - I don't know what to quite say about this class except it's exactly like the first class except with color. Pretty neat though. I think it'll be fun.
Art History II - New teacher but I know I'll be just as bored.
Color Theory - GAH. OMG. My teacher just rambles on about nothing. Let's see if we'll actually get to what we need for the class.
Graphic Design I - I love my teacher. It's exactly what I expected from the class so I'm not upset.
Careers in Art - Seems interesting. Just happy the class isn't even an hour and there is no work.
Art in NYC - Surprisingly, there's a lot of work for this class. I have to do two art reviews so this is going to be a long class. Plus, it's on a Friday at 1:00PM. BAH.

That's my schedule and I KNOW I'll be busy. Luckily for me, art supplies only cost me $100 so far. That's not as expensive as last year.

So right now, I'm feeling only slightly stressed. I hope it doesn't escalate more than that. I think it's the Cooper Union home test getting to me. I've started on it and I think it looks horrible. BAH. My goal for this week is to get the first one done. Let's hope for the best!

My Vlog!

I make Vlogs all the time... but I think there's still a need to type things out too. When a Vlog is made, it seems more spontaneous compared to typing it. When I type, it gives me time to think about what's important and how I really feel. Still, spontaneous is always fun.

Here's my most recent Vlog!

First post!

I've had this blog for years and I've never touched it. Maybe it's time that I should. On my profile, it says I've been here since 2007. DANG. I remember making this maybe 2008 but I don't think 2007. But it still could be possible.
Now that classes are starting again tomorrow, I think it's time to start writing. I'll look back on this one day and think, "DAMN. WTF was I thinking?" But it's all good. I just hope I don't get too busy to the point where I ignore this completely.

Lately, I feel like I've been... lacking something. Life doesn't seem as exciting as it once was. Maybe it's because school is starting again? Yet, I know I should be treasuring every moment of college life I have. What I think I need is to get out in the world. I love where I live right now... but I desperately want to travel. Maybe I'll feel satisfied then. For now, I'll just have to stay where I am. I can't stay this way for long though. Valentine's Day is coming up along with Chinese New Year on the same day! Knock two birds with one stone, I guess. I've already taken the first step and bought a gift for my boyfriend. Since I'm strapped for cash, maybe it'll be a two in one gift if I can't find something else for his birthday. Men are so hard to shop for. But my Valentine's Day gift is expensive! I bet he'll love it though.
So I'm really looking forward to the Spring. I think I'll be rejuvenated when it comes around. I feel like I've been in hibernation for WAY too long! I'm ready for the flowers, the leaves, and running outside with my dog. She looks so bored in the house! I'm also going on a cruise! It'll be my first cruise so I'm excited. I've been on boats before so I know I don't get seasick.
So I'm thinking big things will happen this year. I'm hoping for even bigger things in the future.
: )
